Q: I would like to sign-up for a membership, but I travel for work often. What can I do?
If you go out of town, you can freeze your membership at no cost. All you have to do is fill out a “freeze form” at the academy and provide us with a return date. Your membership payments will automatically go into effect upon your return date.
Q: Do you offer private lessons?
We offer private classes in both BJJ and Muay Thai. Please call our academy at 212-279-6724 if you’re interested in booking a private class with any of our instructors.
Q: Do I have to wear a rash guard under my Gi?
You are not obligated to wear a rash guard under your Gi but it’s highly recommended. We have rash guards for sale at the academy.
Q: I forgot my belt, may I train without a belt?
No, you may not train without a belt. We kindly ask that you train in a complete uniform. We rent belts for $5.
Q: Does your school have showers?
The men’s locker room is equipped with seven shower stalls, while the women’s locker room has four. Please bring a towel and toiletries. We rent towels for $5.
Q: What are your hours of operations?
Monday-Friday 6:40am-9pm. Saturday 9:00am-12:30pm. Sunday 9:30am-11:30am.
Q: When does Master Renzo teach?
Master Renzo pops in sporadically to teach advanced classes. His classes will be announced via Instagram @renzogracieacademy
Q: Do you offer MMA classes?
We don’t offer MMA classes to the public. We hold a private MMA training however, there are qualifications. If you’re serious about joining the MMA training, please speak to the front desk and we’ll tell you next steps.
Q: How many classes am I allowed to take per month?
Our membership is unlimited so for one set price, you’ll be allowed to take as many classes as your schedule permits.
Q: I’m not a member of your academy. As a visitor, may I wear my own Gi?
Only if your Gi is blank and does not contain references to another academy. We kindly ask for you to not wear another academy’s Gi. If you don’t have a Gi with you, or if your Gi contains branding from another academy, you will have to rent a Gi ($15) from our academy.
Q: Do you allow drop-ins?
Drop in rate for BJJ & Muay Thai each are $45. The BJJ + Muay Thai daily combo pass is $75.
