Q: I would like to sign-up for a membership, but I travel for work often. What can I do?
If you go out of town, you can freeze your membership at no cost. All you have to do is fill out a “freeze form” at the academy and provide us with a return date. Your membership payments will automatically go into effect upon your return date.
Q: Do you offer private lessons?
We offer private classes in both BJJ and Muay Thai. Please note that Master Renzo Gracie does not give private lessons. Click here to be redirected to our contact page.
Please call our academy if you’re interested in booking a private class with any of our other instructors.
Q: Do I have to wear a rash guard under my Gi?
You are not obligated to wear a rash guard under your Gi but it’s highly recommended. We have rash guards for sale at the academy.
Q: I forgot my belt, may I train without a belt?
No, you may not train without a belt. We kindly ask that you train in a complete uniform. We rent belts for $5.
Q: Does your school have showers?
Yes, please bring your own toiletries and towel if you wish to shower.
Q: What are your hours of operations?
Monday-Friday 6:40am-8:45pm. Saturday 9:00am-12:30pm. Sunday 9:30am-11:30am.
Q: When does Master Renzo teach?
If he’s not traveling, Master Renzo usually teaches the advanced no-Gi class Saturdays.
Q: May I attend no-Gi class as a White Belt?
You must be a Blue Belt in order to participate in a no-Gi class. It is important for our students to learn the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu wearing the Gi first. The Gi allows students to learn the concepts of control at a slower, yet much more effective pace.
Q: Do you offer MMA classes?
We don’t offer MMA classes to the public. In order to attend this type of class, you must be a member of our academy for a significant amount of time. If you’re serious about this class, please express it to one of our coaches and please be extremely respectful towards everyone involved. This class is invite-only.
Q: How many classes am I allowed to take per month?
Our membership is unlimited so for one set price, you’ll be allowed to take as many classes as your schedule permits.
Q: I’m not a member of your academy. As a visitor, may I wear my own Gi?
Only if your Gi is blank and does not contain references to another academy. We kindly ask for you to not wear another academy’s Gi. If you don’t have a Gi with you, or if your Gi contains branding from another academy, you will have to rent a Gi ($15) from our academy.
Q: Do you allow drop-ins?
All day access pass to BJJ is $45. RG Affiliates pay $25.
