Bio

Daniel was born in Rockland County, NY and started training Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 16 at Renzo Gracie Rockland.  He moved to New York City to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Illustration and a minor in Art History.
Daniel started training at the Renzo Gracie Academy in 2011 being with us for over a decade. After graduation, he started working as an apparel designer and as an airbrush artist.  Meanwhile, he continued training and slowly shifted all of his focus to Jiu-Jitsu.
Daniel first development in Jiu-Jitsu was his defense, he became so good at it that he is actually known for “not tapping”, he has an incredible set of skills of escapes from any position. (If you feel any pain you should tap).
Daniel is still an active bjj competitor. He recently became the New Haven IBJJF Open 2022 Gold Medalist in the lightweight division.
Currently holds the Brown Belt rank promoted by Gregor Gracie.
Classes he teaches: Beginners classes at 7:00AM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
